Senior Military Instructor

Master Sergeant (MSG) Oliver Vogt currently serves as the Senior Military Science Instructor at the University of California, Davis and California State University, Sacramento’s Army ROTC program. He enlisted into the Army in 2005, graduated Airborne School, the Special Operation Combat Medic Course (68W), the SF Medic Course (18D), and Special Forces Qualifications Course at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
MSG Vogt served at 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky from 2009 to 2022, where he successfully led teams in multiple roles and assignments, such as Advanced Special Operations (ASO), Gulf Coalitions Counsel Advisor, Embassy Security teams, 5th SFG(A) Mobility Force Modernization, Long Range Desert Mobility, Remote Medical, Village Stability Operations, Advanced Military Freefall, Crisis Response Force, Critical Target Analysis Company, and a myriad of leadership roles in each.
MSG Vogt's military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Senior Leader Course, Airborne School, SF Sniper School, Ranger School, SFARTAETC, Static and Military Freefall Jumpmaster, and Master Leaders Course
MSG Vogt has several awards and decorations; he has deployed numerous times to Iraq, Afghanistan, and travelled as an advisor to several Middle Eastern countries. However, his preferred award is the "Green Beret", successful combat missions alongside partner forces such as the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Force (ICTF), or "the Hatchet" as Best Ranger of his graduating class.
